Established in 2009, Barloworld Equipment’s Peter J Bulterman (PJB) Learning Academy is a highly acclaimed learning institution focused on delivering certified programmes and courses in the engineering, mining and construction industries.

 

Our dedicated and professional team of OEM certified and experienced facilitators are renowned for their deep knowledge and expert training capabilities. Our courses include web-based training, instructor LED training, simulation, virtual reality and hands on practical training.

 

The Learning Academy offers technical, operator, trade, project and management training for individuals and businesses. Our courses include apprenticeships, semi-skilled workforce competencies, artisans and engineers to logistics and supply chain as well as supervisory and leadership development.

 

In addition to working hand in hand with Barloworld Equipment, the Learning Academy has an impressive list of clients both in South Africa and across southern Africa.

RECOGNITION FOR OUR SUCCESS

The PJB Learning Academy is the third Academy in the Caterpillar network to achieve the highest level of excellence in Caterpillar Technician Career Development Process Accreditation (TCDP-A)

 

The academy has a long history of engineering related training and has been accredited by the Transport Education and Training
(TETA), manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA(MerSeta), Mining Quality Assurance (MDA) and Construction
Education Training Authority (CETA).

 

As a learning institution, the academy has forged strong relationships and partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Caterpillar (CAT), Perkins UK, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as well as a number of higher learning institutions and professional bodies across South Africa and globally.

LEARNING ACADEMY FACILITIES

With a capacity for 3000 students per year, the Learning Academy’s main facility in Johannesburg has:

 

  • 12 fully equipped classrooms that can each accommodate 8-10 students.
  • 4 additional rooms that can be converted into conference style venues that can accommodate 60 attendees.
  • The Technical Training Area for trade prep and testing has 6 workshop bays, 12 practical work areas, 12 lecture rooms, office space, a canteen and other utilities.
  • Across the road from the Learning Academy, there is the 122 room facility that is accessible to students book for training.
